We’re back at that chillest of surfer beach bars Sunday afternoon - The Striped Horse @thestripedhorsemuizenberg We’re in good form again. We have new material. The craft beers will be cold and the vaabz will be warm.

Now with the correct month - I’m a dozy fool. It’s been two and a half years! We’re a six piece band now and get to knock out some baller surf-guitar classics like the Hawaii Five-O theme tune. The Striped Horse is a great place for it - just by Surfer’s Corner with an open fire and a thick list of craft beers.

The couch is getting crowded with different kinds of stuff to practise. I’m tempted to bring down a fourth for some rockabilly stuff I’m working on too.

Getting stoked for the first @krakatoa_band show of the year. @thestripedhorsemuizenberg is such a baller spot to hang out in the summer afternoon - surfers drifting in and out from the beach, comfy chairs, craft beers and cetera.

Short set up time on Saturday for the #deathofpop show at the Mercury finally got me to get all the effects set up in advance so I can just plug a cable into either end without fuss.

I’m concocting a cheesy plan with @sad_ivan to use our SGs in the upcoming #deathofpop show we’re doing with @krakatoa_band. They need a bit of stage time, even if they’re not what you think of as surf guitars. On the other hand, Link Wray used one for a long time so…

Return Of The Fly. We got to warm up a really great crowd @mercurylivect last night for fantastic performances from @coriander_colin and headliners @emergermusic. This was the show to be at this weekend in Cape Town. And I don’t know what they’re putting in the water now but the members of those bands were wonderful, warm people as well as skilled, talented musicians. We’d play with them again any time.

Surprise show with smooth and synthy headliners, @emergermusic, at Mercury live on Sat, 18th May. Also @coriander_colin. Strange bedfellows make for strange and magical nights. This isn’t the official event thingy, obvs. We just wanted to make sure you Krakatoa people got a heads-up.

#mondaymonster! This is something our @sad_ivan has wanted to do since we set up our @krakatoa_band account (and a big part of why we’ve not done much with it so far.) But it’s here! And it’s going to be every Monday to banish the monsters of ennui and capitalism with #monsters! Tell yer mates!

I literally got every detail of our weekend gig wrong - except the venue. It’s on SUNDAY the 3RD at 3PM. To be fair it wasn’t all my fault. Plz pass on to interested parties. . .
