I grabbed a few pics this morning for @haywardcustomguitars. This is a handmade guitar in the style of the greatest electrics built in 1959. It’s 3.81kg (8.4lbs). Only once before have I played a guitar of this style that light that has a completely solid, 1 piece mahogany back. And Graeme’s hand-wound pickups completely nail that airy ‘59 humbucker sound with the sharp attack - almost a single-coil feel. And that top… that flamey top… Had to grab a few pics cos this is likely sold. But Graeme is truly open for business. I imagine that the prices in South African Rands would be very attractive to people in North America, Europe, and Asia.

@ezlemoen and I were hanging out at Graeme Hayward’s (@haywardcustomguitars) in Woodstock here in Cape Town today. This pretty p90 baby-blue Beauty was being picked up by its ecstatic new owner who also brought in a 1969 Fender Mustang for restoration.

I shot a little bit of video of @sad_ivan and Kane recording some demo tracks at my house and put a very early rough demo of the song as soundtrack. I’m starting to take Instagram a little more seriously, as some of you might have noticed. I’ve been meaning to learn to edit video for years. But this is the first piece I’ve ever shared. Trust me, it will get better! This Cack-handed attempt will be my benchmark (it would have been awesome if I’d managed to post it in wide rather than square format for starters) ...
