@withoutaleaf and I had breakfast @rust.coffee.bar this morning. It sure is nice to be able to do some quasi-normal things during this lull in the pandemic now that we’re fully-vaxxed. I even got to be in a room with my whole band - six people in total - on Monday evening for two hours. It felt very good indeed after nearly 20 months.

Morning e para aprender Portugués and drinking coffee in the sun on the balcony. Once I’ve reclaimed my chair from Trinket, that is. We sometimes call this coffee press the, “Darth Vader plunger,” - because it looks like the French Press that would be supplied on Imperial Star Destroyers (imagine the drain gurgle as Vader pours coffee into his helmet). We’ve had it many years and it’s travelled many miles. And it still keeps coffee hot for upwards of an hour.

Coffee from Kerala? The only thing I know about Indian coffee is that it’s cultivated on the West coast among indigenous trees - which has been a huge benefit for Indian birds. Also, if it is from Kerala, it at least means that farm workers will be decently treated. . .
