People always look exhausted on the train at this hour. Looking forward to being home.

A quick trip to Kenilworth in rush hour makes the train the quickest way home. The metro system is a hot mess right now but it beats the traffic.

Going round the blocks rattling food didn’t turn up our wicked Trinket who is, once again, trying to worry us into an early grave. But this handsome fella did come running and then wanted scritches.

The Palm Tree Mosque 🕌 🌴 This is a most unusual mosque and I’ve loved it since I was a kid. No minaret but a standout because of its namesake tree and its high contrast colour scheme - they change it from time to time. I have an old pic of it in blue. A real Cape Town icon.

I’ve bought my first ’new’ camera in years and I’m excited. Ok. It’s 5 years old. It’s not the latest and greatest (it only cost me R1,500 or about $100 US though). But it’s got the same size sensor as the D200 I shot this on, but look how tiny! Hugely better low light performance. All kinds of modern bells and whistles. And yet pocketable with the right lens (I don’t have any yet and nor do I yet have adapters for all my Nikon, Pentax, and Olympus lenses - ALL of which I can use with this camera). I’m more excited to start using this well-loved little darling than I have been about a camera for many years. . ...
