      <description>&lt;p&gt;My old gran would be surprised how useful this kettle she bought in the 1950s would still be in light (hur hur) of the rolling blackouts courtesy of negligent and thieving managers at our state power provider who allowed our power provision to fall to tenuous levels during the Mbeki and Zuma years of rampant kleptocracy and cronyism. Hopefully the new deal we’ve struck with the USA to build our clean power will be part of a gradual turnaround over the next two decades to make up for the two those two men squandered.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;We needed a stovetop kettle for the blackouts. My ma dug out my gran’s old one - from the 50s maybe? I remember this on her stove as a child in the 80s. Puffing steam for the first time in maybe 30 years.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
